​Who can apply for a Wikicamp scholarship?

Every year, Wikimedia Armenia, with the support of the Wikimedia Foundation, provides scholarships for up to 150 participants in order to cover all the costs associated with Wikicamp. In order to receive a Wikicamp scholarship, the applicant must:

• Have experience editing wiki platforms, whose last year’s edits have exceeded with quality and quantity (the decision is based on current statistics on Wikimedia and other project platforms, that is open and able to reach everyone)
• Completion of a significant amount of time doing volunteer work on another project, about which information is available online, and about which the applicant is able to do a short interview summarizing and give contact information of references (the decision is made by a special committee of Wikipedia volunteers, based on presented information and a short interview).  

Wikimedia Armenia is a non-profit educational NGO, and donations are spent on the Wikicamp organization to cover the participation cost.​

What are you going to do if my child gets sick or requires medication

Taking care of our campers with health and safety. During Wikicamp, there will always be a doctor on site who will monitor the health of the children around the clock, and provide first aid if necessary. If your child requires any medication, the doctor will follow-up and ensure your child is taking them as prescribed. 

How many campers does one officer have in a group, that he/she will be responsible for?​

The Wikicamp leader is responsible for monitoring 10 participants.​

What should I bring with me?​

For camp, you need to bring:

• Laptop computer (notebook, netbook), if you have one
• Camera (not mandatory)
• Light summer clothes, hat (long-sleeve shirts, since it is cold at night)
• Athletic shoes, athletic clothing
• Hygiene products (towel, shampoo, etc.)
• Musical instruments (of course, if you have and want to play)
• Backpac

What are the accommodations like?​

Wikicamp will be held in Aghveran’s “Golden River” resort. The campers will be staying in rooms with 3-5 beds, and they will be divided based on their age group. The rooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities.​

What will I eat at Wikicamp?​

At Wikicamp there is a variety of food, prepared from fresh meat and vegetables. If you have any special dietary needs, inform us in advance, so that the chef will be able to accommodate your meal.​

What is the policy for smoking and drinking alcohol at Wikicamp?​

For us, it is very important to have a healthy lifestyle. At Wikicamp, we do not encourage our campers to smoke and drink alcoholic beverages. Participants who violate this rule will be terminated from Wikicamp. Staff members who smoke, should only do so in specific areas. This rule applies to all staff members and guests

Can I freely come and go from the resort at any time?​

The resort area is dedicated entirely for the campers and trespassers are strictly prohibited. The parent visiting day and hours will be announced separately. In case of emergency, before visiting, parents must call ahead
